As a widow, I’ve learned that the act of giving—whether it’s love, support, or a listening ear—has become one of the most healing parts of my journey.
We don’t give to get something back. We give because we get to. Even in grief, we still have something to offer—our wisdom, our presence, our compassion. And when we give with open hearts, we often receive in return: peace, strength, connection, and quiet reminders that we’re not alone.
This season of life has taught me that giving can be its own form of grace. And sometimes, the very thing we give away is the thing that returns to us when we need it most.
You get to give.
You give to give.
And in that, you get — healing, hope, and heart.
